Baseball Recap: Los Altos Victorious

Los Altos lost to Palo Alto two weeks ago, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Vikings 4-3. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.

Anders Wood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on three hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Los Altos is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mason Morgan, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Los Altos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Los Altos' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Palo Alto, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9.

Los Altos wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Gunn on the 2nd. As for Palo Alto, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-6 win against Sacred Heart Prep on the 2nd.
