Baseball Recap: Fort Atkinson Takes a Loss

Fort Atkinson had lost six straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-15 to make it seven. They came up short against the McFarland Spartans, falling 9-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blackhawks of the 4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

As for McFarland, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 7th (when they won 14-0).

For McFarland's part, the team relied heavily on Brody Samuel, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Blattner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

While Fort Atkinson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
