Basketball Game Preview: Nebraska Lutheran Knights vs. Shelby-Rising City Huskies

Nebraska Lutheran is 1-6 against Shelby-Rising City since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Nebraska Lutheran Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Shelby-Rising City Huskies at 1:30 p.m.

Last Thursday, Nebraska Lutheran came up short against High Plains and fell 50-41.

Despite the loss, Nebraska Lutheran had strong showings from Samantha Hueske, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Tenley Williamson, who posted nine points and six boards. Those six boards gave Williamson a new career-high.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shelby-Rising City). They walked away with a 51-43 win over Hampton on Friday.

Nebraska Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Shelby-Rising City, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Nebraska Lutheran couldn't quite finish off Shelby-Rising City in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 and fell 39-37. Can Nebraska Lutheran avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
