Soccer Recap: Paraclete Comes Up Short

Paraclete and Claremont squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Paraclete had to settle for second. They lost 5-2 to the Claremont Wolfpack. While losing is never fun, the Spirits can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 56th).

Camryn Freeman and Viviana Delgado scored both of Paraclete's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 48 goals.

Paraclete has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-6 record this season. As for Claremont, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.

Paraclete does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Claremont, they have already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against El Dorado on the 14th.
