Baseball Recap: Angola Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Angola extended their winning streak to seven on Thursday, bumping them up to 16-4. They blew past the Central Noble Cougars 18-2. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Landen Bussard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Myles Steury, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Garrett Sorgen was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

As for Central Noble, they now have a losing record of 8-9. They have struggled against Angola recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

On Central Noble's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Treyton Fletcher, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Angola will square off against Clinton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redskins have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Central Noble, they will take on Woodlan at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
