Basketball Recap: Hickory Takes a Loss

Hickory suffered their closest loss since December 3, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Greenville Trojans by a score of 43-40. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Hickory lost, don't look at Kimora Roberts. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Roberts is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Another player making a difference was Addison Phillips, who posted 11 points.

Hickory's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Greenville, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Hickory wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 42-34 defeat against Slippery Rock on the 16th. Greenville has also already played their next game (against Grove City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
