Softball Recap: Northwest Whitfield Comes Up Short

Northwest Whitfield had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-15 to make it six. They lost 7-0 to the Heritage Generals. The Bruins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Generals earlier this season, when they won 10-7.

As for Heritage, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

For Heritage's part, the result came thanks to Bailee Hollis's shutout, as she gave up just three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Landry White, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August. Ema Tanner also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

While Northwest Whitfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
