Baseball Recap: Charlevoix Comes Up Short

Charlevoix was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-6 to the Elk Rapids Elks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rayders of the 11-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Bo Evans stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Lucas Strahan also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Charlevoix's record is now 0-11. As for Elk Rapids, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Charlevoix will welcome Harbor Light Christian at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Rayders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Swordsmen have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season. As for Elk Rapids, they will head out on the road to challenge East Jordan at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
