Football Recap: Jeremiah Duhu's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Beaumont over Vista Murrieta + How To Watch

The Beaumont Cougars came up short against the Vista Murrieta Broncos on Friday and fell 21-14. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Beaumont lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jeremiah Duhu, who threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 68 yards. Beaumont's leading receiver Braedon Miller was Duhu's top target yet again, picking up 103 receiving yards and one TD.

Even if they lost, Beaumont's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Brayden Valentich refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Vista Murrieta's side was Valentich, who picked up 1.5 sacks and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Bryson Beaver continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Vista Murrieta, throwing for 206 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushing for 34 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Beaumont fell to 4-1. As for Vista Murrieta, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Beaumont will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Redlands at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Cougars will be up against the Terriers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Vista Murrieta, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 38-12 victory against El Camino on the 26th.
