Softball Recap: Yutan-Mead Wins Going Away Against Plattsmouth

Yutan-Mead got themselves on the board against Plattsmouth on Tuesday, but Plattsmouth never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Blue Devils. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Leah Thompson's shutout, as she gave up just four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordyn Campbell, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Trent, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Yutan-Mead kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plattsmouth only managed four hits.

The win made it two in a row for Yutan-Mead and bumps their season record up to 13-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Plattsmouth, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Yutan-Mead has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Arlington on the 18th. Plattsmouth has also already played their next contest (against Ashland-Greenwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
