Soccer Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central entered their game against Foothills Christian on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Central Spartans fell just short of the Foothills Christian Knights by a score of 3-2. The match was a 2-2 toss-up at halftime, but the Spartans couldn't quite close it out.

Ariana Peraza wasn't going to let Foothills Christian walk away unscathed as she scored both of Central's goals, bringing her season total up to 12 goals.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 5-4-1. As for Foothills Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will head out to take on Southwest EC at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Foothills Christian, they are taking a road trip to face off against Escondido Charter at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Foothills Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season.
