Recap: Union City Bears vs. Youngsville Eagles
The Union City Bears were handed a two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Youngsville Eagles on Thursday. Union City claimed a resounding 51-20 victory over Youngsville on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.
Union City was led to victory by Brooke Vantassel and Cathryn Reynolds. Vantassel scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Reynolds scored 12 points along with three steals. Reynolds hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Hunter, who scored five points along with three steals.
Union City is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Youngsville, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Union City will be playing in front of their home fans against Cambridge Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Union City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday. As for Youngsville, they will head out on the road to square off against Cochranton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
