Basketball Recap: Minarets Comes Up Short

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Minarets duked it out withDos Palos on Saturday. The Minarets Mustangs were dealt a 56-25 loss at the hands of the Dos Palos Broncos. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now lost four in a row.

Leading Dos Palos to victory were Brionte Neal and Jayla Bland. Neal posted 21 points, while Bland had 13 points. Those 13 points gave Bland a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karina Tapia, who put up six points.

Minarets' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Dos Palos, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Minarets will be taking part in a tournament against Yosemite at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Dos Palos, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-30 victory against Le Grand on the 17th.
