Basketball Recap: Faith Hayes Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Waterford

Turlock Christian's game on Monday was all tied up 12-12 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 39-30 win over the Waterford Wildcats. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 33-30 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.

Turlock Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Faith Hayes, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Hayes has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Claire Betts, who posted 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.

Turlock Christian now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Waterford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Turlock Christian Eagles challenge the Vacaville Christian Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vacaville Christian's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Turlock Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Waterford, they will host Millennium at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
