Basketball Recap: Dunn Falls to Santa Clara in First Game of Season

Dunn kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Santa Clara Saints and fell 64-10. The Earwigs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it eight in a row dating back to last season.

Sofia Peralta was her usual excellent self, putting up 27 points and four steals for Santa Clara. Those 27 points gave Peralta a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alissa Carbajal, who posted 12 points and three blocks.

The victory got Santa Clara back to even at 4-4.

Dunn has already played their next game (against Villanova Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Santa Clara wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-22 win against Laguna Blanca on the 23rd.
