Softball Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

Lamar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to the Brush Beetdiggers. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Beetdiggers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Yahirett Roman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Brush, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Lamar will be taking part in a tournament against Valley on Saturday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.48 runs per game on average), something the Thunder will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Brush, they will take on Alameda in a tournament on Saturday. The Beetdiggers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
