Basketball Game Preview: Christopher Cougars vs. Branham Bruins

The Christopher Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Branham Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christopher is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Last Saturday, Christopher didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Leland, but they still walked away with a 59-55 win. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Chargers are ranked 809th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Branham). They strolled past Pioneer with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 59-40. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Christopher has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Branham, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.

Christopher came up short against Branham in their previous meeting on January 7th, falling 45-35. Can Christopher avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
