Erin Meriwether made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Francesca Lane was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Westminster Christian waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Angels an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Charlie Berkmeyer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Berkmeyer was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sophia Bell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Milgie, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Westminster Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
Incarnate Word Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Westminster Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
