Basketball Game Preview: Yuma Criminals vs. San Luis Sidewinders

The Yuma Criminals and the San Luis Sidewinders will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

San Luis is facing Yuma at the wrong time: Yuma suffered their first home loss of the season on Monday and they're likely out for redemption. They were dealt a 63-16 loss at the hands of the Raiders. The contest marked the Criminals' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, San Luis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 71-17 loss at the hands of Chandler. While losing is never fun, the Sidewinders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Wolves are ranked 32nd).

San Luis' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Yuma, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Everything went Yuma's way against San Luis in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as Yuma made off with a 41-21 victory. Does Yuma have another victory up their sleeve, or will San Luis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
