Humboldt has gone a perfect 8-0 against Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to take on Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS. Humboldt will be strutting in after a win while Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS will be coming in after a defeat.

Humboldt took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Newell-Fonda, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 7-6 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since June 19th.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS' offense. They came up short against Algona on Thursday, falling 14-0. Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS has struggled against Algona recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS' defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Humboldt, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13.
