Basketball Recap: Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Comes Up Short

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-7. They came up short against the Fort Calhoun Pioneers, falling 46-23. The matchup marked Logan View/Scribner-Snyder's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Logan View/Scribner-Snyder saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayde Kreifels posted six points along with ten boards and four steals. Kreifels has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Addison Horvatich, who earned three points and seven rebounds.

As for Fort Calhoun, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.

Fort Calhoun was led to victory by Isabel Wray and Ansley Elofson. Wray went 6-for-9 en route to 15 points and five boards, while Elofson almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. Those 15 points gave Wray a new career-high. Allison Miles also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has already played their next matchup, a 41-35 loss against Stanton on the 10th. As for Fort Calhoun, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-38 win against Broken Bow on the 10th.
