Basketball Recap: Blue Hill Comes Up Short

Blue Hill lost against Silver Lake back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blue Hill Bobcats were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to the Silver Lake Mustangs.

Blue Hill lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Reece Mlady, who posted nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 16 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Avaley Toepfer, who earned 12 points and seven boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Silver Lake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophie Schmidt, who had 16 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Karr, who scored 11 points and eight rebounds.

Blue Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Silver Lake, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.

Blue Hill has already played their next matchup, a 56-34 loss against Red Cloud on the 8th. As for Silver Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-34 defeat against Shelton on the 8th.
