Monte Vista is 3-0 against Calexico since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Monte Vista Monarchs will welcome the Calexico Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m.

Monte Vista is headed into Friday's following a draw, the team's first since December 12. Neither they nor Otay Ranch could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Monte Vista's goal came courtesy of Marely Velazquez, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, Calexico kept a clean sheet against Yuma Catholic on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over the Shamrocks. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by three goals or more this season.

Calexico pushed their record up to 13-3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five contests. Monte Vista's draw makes their record 1-3-2 this season.

Monte Vista skirted past Calexico 2-1 in their previous matchup back in December of 2016. Will Monte Vista repeat their success, or does Calexico have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
