Volleyball Game Preview: Windsor Wizards vs. Greeley West Spartans

Windsor is 7-1 against Greeley West since September of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wizards will look to defend their home court against the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Greeley West took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Windsor, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Windsor beat Poudre 3-1. The Wizards haven't had any issues with the Impalas recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Windsor had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-15, 25-11, 25-21.

Windsor's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hallie Burroughs, who had 16 digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave Burroughs a new career-high in assists (25). Avery Smiley was another key player, getting 18 digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Windsor was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 12 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Greeley West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Fossil Ridge, falling 3-0.

Greeley West's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Windsor, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

Windsor took their victory against Greeley West when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Wizards repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
