Recap: Tussey Mountain Titans vs. Southern Huntingdon County Rockets
The Tussey Mountain Titans suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were outmatched by Southern Huntingdon County on the road and fell 75-42. While losing is never fun, Tussey Mountain can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Southern Huntingdon County is ranked 127th).
Several Titans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brianna Gabrielson, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Maelee Sheeder, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Tussey Mountain has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Southern Huntingdon County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.
Tussey Mountain will be playing at home against Mount Union at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mount Union has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for Southern Huntingdon County, they will head out on the road to face off against Claysburg-Kimmel at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Claysburg-Kimmel focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 41 last Wednesday.
