Lathrop extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Shakara Porter. The Lathrop Spartans walked away with a 58-50 victory over the Beyer Patriots on Thursday thanks in part to Porter, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 14 games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Faith Allen, who posted eight points and five steals. She is becoming a predictor of Lathrop's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 4-2 (and 9-12 when she doesn't).

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kylie Kulina, who put up 20 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Dancer, who earned 13 points along with five steals and three blocks.

Lathrop's record now sits at 13-14. As for Beyer, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.

Lathrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Beyer, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-31 defeat against Rio Linda on the 18th.
