Football Recap: Holcomb Starts Season with Victory at Home

Holcomb took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-13 win over the Cheney Cardinals. For the Longhorns, this counts as revenge for the 38-7 victory the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Holcomb found their leader in sophomore Cooper Cranston, who rushed for 110 yards, and also threw for 86 yards and a pair of TDs.

Holcomb has already played their next game, a 50-6 win against Cimarron on the 12th. As for Cheney, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 38-0 victory against Kingman on the 12th.
