Basketball Game Preview: Ligonier Valley Rams vs. East Allegheny Wild Cats

Ligonier Valley is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, East Allegheny a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Ligonier Valley Rams will host the East Allegheny Wild Cats at 7:00 p.m. Neither Ligonier Valley nor East Allegheny posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Last Thursday, Ligonier Valley ended up a good deal behind Deer Lakes and lost 39-24. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 508th, while the Lancers are ranked 214th).

Ligonier Valley's defeat came about despite a quality game from Adleigh Myers, who posted nine points. What's more, Myers also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, East Allegheny lost to South Allegheny on the road by a 40-25 margin on Thursday.

East Allegheny's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Ligonier Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
