Basketball Recap: Juniata Comes Up Short

Juniata came into this matchup off a tough 43-point loss on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Penns Valley Area Rams by a score of 45-42 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 59-42 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Leading Penns Valley Area to victory were Ellie Romig and Paige Johnson. Romig went 6-for-8 en route to 14 points, while Johnson shot 83% from the field on her way to 14 points. Thanks to that strong game, Romig now owns an excellent 45.6% field goal percentage. Sydnie Dalton was another key player, putting up six points and five assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Juniata and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Penns Valley Area, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11.

Juniata does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Penns Valley Area, they have already played their next matchup, a 65-48 loss against Bellwood-Antis on the 11th.
