Preview: Plainview Pirates vs. Creighton Bulldogs
The Plainview Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Creighton Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Plainview has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. The game between them and O'Neill wasn't particularly close, with Plainview falling 50-36. Plainview has not had much luck with O'Neill recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Plainview had strong showings from Teya Boyer, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Abbie Kromarek, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Creighton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bloomfield.
Plainview's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. As for Creighton, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-14.
Plainview beat Creighton 55-43 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plainview since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
