Severance is 9-1 against Thompson Valley since August of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Silver Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Severance will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Severance's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Timnath 18-0. The Silver Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by eight runs or more this season.
Katie Thomas made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zeta Gattis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Alex Avila was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Severance kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are undefeated (11-0) when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Thompson Valley lost 16-1 to Berthoud on Tuesday.
Thompson Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Villafranca, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Ella Raabe, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.
Thompson Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10. As for Severance, their win bumped their record up to 14-4-1.
Thompson Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Severance has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Thompson Valley, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4 strikeouts. Will Severance keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
Everything went Severance's way against Thompson Valley in their previous matchup back in September, as Severance made off with a 21-0 victory. Will the Silver Knights repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
