Recap: Richland Rams vs. Penns Valley Area Rams

The Richland Rams can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 47-46 win over Penns Valley Area. This was payback for Richland, who suffered a 39-32 loss the last time these two teams met.

Richland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lanie Marshall out in front who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Sasha Garnett, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds.

Penns Valley Area's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ellie Romig, who scored ten points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Lilly Smith was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Richland now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Penns Valley Area, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richland will take on Bishop McCort at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop McCort is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Penns Valley Area, they will head out on the road to challenge Bellefonte at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Bellefonte: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Penns Valley Area has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
