Volleyball Game Preview: Texas Tigers vs. Lufkin Panthers

The Texas Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Lufkin Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Texas took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Nacogdoches. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-18, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Lufkin beat Marshall 3-1 on Friday.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-15, 21-25, 25-21.

Lufkin's victory bumped their record up to 33-9. As for Texas, their win bumped their record up to 24-16.

Texas came out on top in a nail-biter against Lufkin when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
