Basketball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Pierce City's Winning Streak

After flying high against McAuley Catholic last Tuesday, Pierce City came back down to earth. The Pierce City Eagles took a 55-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Newton Patriots. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Pierce City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for East Newton, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pierce City will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lockwood at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. East Newton will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against McDonald County at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
