Soccer Recap: Dougherty Comes Up Short

Dougherty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Sherwood Christian Academy Eagles, falling 5-2. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Dougherty's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dougherty will face off against Sumter County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sumter County will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Dougherty surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, they will challenge Cairo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sherwood Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.2 goals per game this season.
