Soccer Recap: Lanier Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 2-2 at halftime, Lanier was not quite Berkmar's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They lost 8-4 to the Patriots. The loss continues a trend for Lanier in their meetings with Berkmar: they've now lost four in a row.

Lanier's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10-1. As for Berkmar, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.

Coming up, Lanier will head out to face off against South Gwinnett at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lanier's defense better be ready for this one: South Gwinnett have averaged an impressive 2.7 goals per game this season. As for Berkmar, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Cedar Grove at 8:00 p.m. Berkmar will be up against Cedar Grove's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.7 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
