Recap: Mt. Pleasant Cardinals vs. James Lick Comets
The Mt. Pleasant Cardinals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 67-14 win over James Lick on the road. Mt. Pleasant has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season.
Mt. Pleasant was led to victory by Josefina Nyquist and Snowe DeLeon. Nyquist scored 18 points, while DeLeon scored 27 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which DeLeon has scored at least a third of Mt. Pleasant's points. Jayden Perez was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
The victory (which was Mt. Pleasant's fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for James Lick, their loss dropped their record down to 1-18.
Mt. Pleasant will head out on the road to face off against Gunderson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gunderson is on a three-game streak of home wins, Mt. Pleasant a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. James Lick will take on Yerba Buena at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
