Soccer Game Preview: Rome vs. South Paulding

Rome has gone a perfect 3-0 against South Paulding recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rome Wolves will challenge the South Paulding Spartans at 8:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Rome's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Coosa 5-0. That five goal margin sets a new team best for Wolves this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Paulding). They put the hurt on Pepperell with a sharp 6-1 victory on Tuesday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

Rome has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four games. The win made it two in a row for South Paulding and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Everything went Rome's way against South Paulding in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, as Rome made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rome since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
