Basketball Game Preview: Poway Titans vs. Westview Wolverines

Poway is 1-9 against Westview since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Poway Titans will host the Westview Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with ten losses in a row, Poway turned things around against Fallbrook on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 60-50.

Meanwhile, Westview hadn't done well against Mission Hills recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Westview escaped with a win against Mission Hills by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53.

Westview is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Poway, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-16.

Poway was taken down by Westview 87-39 in their previous meeting on January 14th. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Poway was down 51-15.
