Soccer Game Preview: Maywood Academy vs. Marquez

Maywood Academy is 0-10 against Marquez since February of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Maywood Academy Nighthawks will face off against the Marquez Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Maywood Academy is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Maywood CES on Thursday. Maywood Academy lost 3-0 to Maywood CES. Considering the last time the Nighthawks couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Marquez came up short against Maywood CES on Wednesday and fell 3-1.

Marquez's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-6-2. As for Maywood Academy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Maywood Academy might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Marquez in their previous meeting on January 6th. Can Maywood Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
