Softball Recap: Ralston Victorious

Ralston lost to Yutan-Mead back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Rams came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Makenzie Macrander made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 22 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elliana Orduna, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Maddy Mather was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Ralston's record is now 19-6. As for Yutan-Mead, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-6 record this season.

Ralston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Yutan-Mead, they will square off against Douglas County West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
