Baseball Game Preview: Eldon Mustangs vs. Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish

The Eldon Mustangs will head out to take on the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eldon took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Helias, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Crusaders on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Springfield Catholic got the win against Strafford on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Irish, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Eldon's record is now 17-14. As for Springfield Catholic, their record now sits at 20-13.

Eldon couldn't quite get it done against Springfield Catholic in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 as they fell 5-1. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
