Softball Recap: Battle Mountain Has No Trouble Against Lincoln

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Battle Mountain). They blew past the Lincoln Lancers 30-9 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Celia Nowakowski was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Ellie Rella was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Battle Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .581. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Battle Mountain and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 24.0 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Battle Mountain will take on Peak to Peak at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln, they will face off against Kennedy at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
