Basketball Recap: Fort Cherry Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Fort Cherry and Kennedy Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Fort Cherry had to settle for second. They lost 75-49 to Kennedy Catholic. The Rangers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

It was another big night for Layke Fields, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 16 boards for Kennedy Catholic. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fields has scored at least a third of Kennedy Catholic's points. Bella Magestro was another key player, going 5-for-12 to rack up 18 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.

Fort Cherry's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Kennedy Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Fort Cherry nor Kennedy Catholic have any future games scheduled.
