Recap: Live Oak Acorns vs. Westmont Warriors
The Live Oak Acorns had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 41-31 win over Westmont. That's another feather in the cap for Live Oak, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Live Oak's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kathliyah Clement led the charge by scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Clement is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maya Rafat, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Live Oak has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Westmont, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-13.
