Recap: Saint Francis Lancers vs. Fremont Firebirds
The Saint Francis Lancers put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 62-53 victory over Fremont. Given Saint Francis' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Fremont is ranked 246th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Maia Jimenez was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Allison Dauer, who scored ten points.
Saint Francis pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Fremont, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Saint Francis will head out on the road to face off against Pioneer at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pioneer is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. Fremont will be home for the holidays to greet Menlo School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
