Baseball Recap: Hephzibah Takes a Loss

Hephzibah lost against Westside on March 4th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Hephzibah took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westside. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hephzibah saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Richard Gonzalez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Those two hits gave Gonzalez a new career-high. Another was Cristian Diaz, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Hephzibah's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Westside, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Looking ahead, Hephzibah will take on Augusta Prep Day at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hephzibah's pitchers better be ready for this one: Augusta Prep Day has averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season. As for Westside, they will square off against Silver Bluff at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
