Softball Recap: Bellevue East Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Bellevue East won the last time they faced Omaha North and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Chieftains put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 12-1 win. Considering the Chieftains have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Brooklyn Houghtailing, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Hoffman, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Bellevue East is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Omaha North, they are on a 22-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-23.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bellevue East will square off against Lincoln Northeast at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Omaha North, they will take on Lincoln High at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Links have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.83 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
