Basketball Game Preview: Victory Christian Academy Knights vs. Ventura Cougars

Having just played yesterday, the Victory Christian Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Ventura Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Victory Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Bonita Vista 70-34. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Barons are ranked 932nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Ventura came tearing into Thursday's match with 17 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 39-28 win over the Yellowjackets. The 39-point effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Ventura's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points per game. As for Victory Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.
