Basketball Game Preview: Monterey Dores vs. Everett Alvarez Eagles

The Monterey Dores will face off against the Everett Alvarez Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Monterey and five for Everett Alvarez.

On Tuesday, Monterey was beaten by Hollister 70-39. While losing is never fun, the Dores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 828th, while the Haybalers are ranked 403rd).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-32, which was the final score in Everett Alvarez's tilt against Watsonville last Tuesday.

Monterey's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Everett Alvarez, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Monterey strolled past Everett Alvarez in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 42-24. Will Monterey repeat their success, or does Everett Alvarez have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
